Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association

The Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association (KSISA) is dedicated to the prevention of stroke through education and awareness. KSISA strives to be the primary resource center for those throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana affected by stroke. We provide speakers and information on prevention and recovery to the general public and our survivors and families through local community events, health fairs, stroke clubs, support groups, etc.

Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program (KCHIP)

Description:
What is KCHIP? KCHIP’s mission is to provide low cost health insurance coverage to low income, uninsured children younger than 19 in Kentucky. The K-CHIP staff understands that access to health care is very important and that preventive care is a large part of health care. Immunizations, well child checkups, and other preventive services help children get and stay healthy. For example, a family of four can earn up to $50,801 a year and qualify for KCHIP for their children under 19 years of age.

Lee Specialty Clinic

Description:
The Lee Specialty Clinic offers a broad range of medical, dental, psychiatric, and general healthcare services for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Many of the clinicians at the Lee Specialty Clinic have dedicated their entire professional careers to caring for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Office for Children with Special Health Care Needs (OCSHCN)

Description:
OCSHCN clinics provide a family centered multidisciplinary approach to care. During each visit, children and families have access to nutritional services, social services, care coordination through a registered nurse, and specialty physicians. Physical and occupational therapies are included for clinics serving children with orthopedic conditions and cerebral palsy. Speech therapy is available for children with hearing loss or other conditions that affect speech and language development. Clinics that treat complex conditions offer the services of multiple physicians who provide a team approach to the management of these complex conditions.

Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC)

Description:
A Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center provides daily skilled nursing to children with a medical diagnosis. Depending on the facility, the ages go from 6 weeks to the 21st birthday. PPEC services are covered by Medicaid/MCO’s and are considered part of EPSDT services with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Project SCOPE (Supporting Children of the OPioid Epidemic)

Description:
Project SCOPE is a nationwide initiative to train interdisciplinary teams in high priority states on evidence-based practices in screening, monitoring and interdisciplinary care for children impacted by Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), trauma, or related exposure. This initiative builds provider capacity and closes gaps in access and delivery of quality education, treatment, and support services for young children, aged 0 – 5 and their families.
