Description: CILs are non-residential, private, non-profit, consumer-controlled, community-based organizations providing services and advocacy by and for persons with all types of disabilities. CILs are unique as they provide peer based services, where the staff and board of directors are made of at least 51% people with disabilities. CILs believe that people with disabilities know what is best for people with disabilities. The goal is to assist individuals with disabilities achieve their maximum potential.
